McFaddens will be closed until Aug. 29, according to the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration

The city agency charged with regulating alcohol policies suspended the popular local bar McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon’s liquor license for 12 days, citing the establishment for serving a minor.

McFadden’s faced a hearing with the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration Wednesday for allegedly selling liquor to an underage customer and failing to require the minor to produce valid identification, ABRA spokeswoman Cynthia Simms said. Officials charged the bar a $4,000 fine and issued a 12-day suspension that began Aug. 18 and will last until Aug. 29.

The sales to minors occurred between July 16 and Aug. 11, Simms said. McFadden’s also ran into conflicts with ABRA for similar reasons in March, February, August 2010, July 2010, February 2008 and May 2008.

McFadden’s employees did not return a request for comment.
